Elavon is currently seeking a PaaS Engineer to join their Integration Technologies team. The candidate will join a technologically diverse team of engineers focusing on application delivery and automation within the organization.
The position candidate will be responsible for designing and building a PaaS environment based on containerization technology to support upcoming company initiatives. The candidate will be part of an on call rotation.
The candidate must possess a strong set of troubleshooting and analytical skills, as well as the ability to research and resolve technical problems. Support knowledge for J2EE Middleware (JBOSS, Websphere, TIBCO, etc.) is highly desired, as this is the technology stack that will initially be deployed into a PaaS environment. Experience with automation tools such as Puppet, Ansible, and/or Jenkins is also required.
The ideal candidate will be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders in company initiatives, and must be able to drive efforts to completion with minimal direction. They will also have a strong passion for developing new and innovate solutions to existing problems, and desire to constantly improve the services we provide to the organization. Finally, and most importantly, the candidate will be expected to have a strong drive and aptitude towards automation.
Requirements:
- Extremely strong technical expertise in one of the following container technologies: Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, RedHat Openshift, Rancher Labs;
- Understanding of configuration management concepts and tools, and how to use them;
- Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible). Preferably Puppet;
- Experience with Rundeck, Ansible, Jenkins, or a relatable job automation tool;
- In-depth experience with Linux and/or UNIX (RHEL/Solaris) operating systems; i.e. should be fully self-sufficient and be able to perform troubleshooting tasks on the operating system;
- Experience with a J2EE platform; i.e. Websphere, JBOSS, or Weblogic. Very strong preference for JBOSS EAP experience;
- Experience with Apache, Nginx, IBM HttpServer, or Microsoft IS webservers;
- Knowledge of how load-balancers such as Netscalers or F5 appliances work;
- Strong troubleshooting skills;
- Ability to create descriptive and effective technical documentation;
- Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) with various level of stakeholders from developer to senior management;
- The desire to quickly pick up and learn a large collection of technologies.
- Experience with TIBCO messaging productions (EMS, BusinessWorks, etc.);
- PKI knowledge and certificate management experience.
