The Operations Manager supports the Operations Director with achieving the overall performance goals for productivity, cost, quality, of a multi-client distribution centre.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Achieve customer metrics to ensure performance goals are successfully met, decrease incident rates, comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), SLA and other KPI’s
- Enforce company safety standards and ensure that associates are complying with policies and procedures to reduce accidents and create a safe working environment.
- Maximize the performance of the site inventory management system to ensure accuracy and control of client inventory.
- Assist with the development of associates through performance management process. Achieve improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews.
- Plan and monitor daily staffing schedules, and adjusts to ensure adequate staffing levels that support operational demands and business objectives.
- Plan and schedule distribution services, including receiving, shipping, and handling returned/damaged goods and administrative activities to ensure the customer requirements are met.
- Maintain operations and office staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Direct distribution centre supervisors and distribution personnel to ensure a safe and efficient operation of the warehouse and in completing tasks and projects to improve the distribution process.
- Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation to ensure successful home deliveries.
- Receive and handle telephone calls and inquiries from customers regarding delivery services.
- Support an environment that fosters open and positive team communication by hosting team meetings, stand-ups, planning associate recognition events, individual meetings, and other related formal and informal methods of communication.
- Ensure customer and vendor contract requirements are administered and enforced.
- Ensure carriers are complying with the contractual terms identified in their Carrier Contract Agreement.
Education/Experience
- Master's degree in business or logistics is preferred, not required.
- Min 5 years of experience managing operations- specifically within home delivery, logistics, transportation, warehousing or related field.

- Skilled at balancing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple client requirements.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written as well as practice active listening skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, motivation and planning skills, excellent communicator.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
- Knowledge of working time legislation.
- Good command of English.
- Computer literate with general knowledge of software to include Microsoft Office Suite, and other related software.
