Operational Buyer - Indirect

Description:
The position is responsible for indirect procurement transactions in North America, Europe and any other applicable regions. The incumbant closely cooperates with the Global Category Manager as well as Category Procurement Specialist for the given category.
The position is new and based on a redesigned and optimized Procurement process. This position’s scope includes reviewing and approving purchase order related invoices.
Responsibilities:
- Exists within our Global Business Services Procurement organization and reports to the Procurement Operations Team Lead.
- Procures services and goods for the firm’s internal needs.
- Administers purchase orders (PO’s), including change order processing (modifications).
- Reviews PO-related invoices and ensures that invoices are approved in accordance with terms and conditions agreed within the procurement agreement.
- Advises to stakeholders how to create requisitions in Oracle and helps them in understanding the overall Procurement process.
- Evaluates facts surrounding purchase order-related problem areas, determines the most appropriate remedial actions, and implements such actions through available means.
- Maintains Purchase Order and purchasing documentation.
- Uses superior interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with stakeholders, Category Managers, Procurement Specialists or other buyers, and functional partners at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
- High School or Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in Procurement desired, preferably in indirect procurement categories like:
- - Facilities (Office supplies, furniture, cleaning, remodeling), Consulting, Marketing, HR or Professional Services.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with strong analytical capabilities.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Other languages may be an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Working knowledge of enterprise procurement systems (Oracle, Ariba) are an asset.
- Willingness to work from 12:00 to 8 PM to partially cover US time zones.
