To support this growth, we are looking for a self-motivated and experienced developer to join the team that builds highly scalable machine translation solutions to localize millions of ecommerce products, with high quality & low cost. - Design and implement code to collect, analyze and prepare large natural language data sets.
- Help with providing insights for the development of in-house machine translation solutions.
- Train and evaluate large vocabulary machine translation models customized for product data.
- Improve the quality of machine translation models through experimentation.
- Analyze and solve language-related problems using statistical methods on vast quantities of data.
- Architect and build features in their entirety.
- Stay up-to-date on state-of-the-art machine translation techniques.
- M.S. or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field.
- Expertise in machine translation technologies.
- Experience using tools and systems for standard NLP tasks, such as machine translation, language modeling, named entity recognition, syntactic parsing, etc.
- Experience using machine translation tools, e.g. Moses, Thot, KenLM, SRILM, etc.
- Contributions to NLP projects will be considered a plus.
- Experience in deep machine learning and related toolkits, e.g. Theano, Torch, Blocks, Tensorflow, etc.
- Experience working with natural language data at the graduate degree level or professionally.
- Solid programming skills in C++, or scripting languages like Python.
- Strong knowledge of agile development practices, methodologies, and tools.
- Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Fluent English.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- At least 5 years of software development experience.
- Working with big partners (eBay, Amazon, Google, PayPal, and others).
