- You will be responsible for building Ruby applications in “pure” low-level Ruby logic code (without the rails framework) including anything from complex groups of back-end to command line utilities, TCP/IP based libraries and data processing scripts. This job in nature is not the common RoR web development position, but more of a Network infrastructure engineer in its nature, building a network app. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop these applications, and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure.

- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable “pure” Ruby logic low-level code (without the rails framework).
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions for these problems.
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with “clean” Ruby low level logic programming (without the rails framework)
- Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Vast experience with socket programming.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP based protocols and communication.
- Experience in Test Driven Development
- Understanding of functional programming style in Ruby
- Skills for writing reusable Ruby libraries that may be used in expressive ways
- Familiarity with concepts of Mocking and RESTful API
- Experience or understanding of the HTTP Protocol.
- Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as: Git
- Familiarity with development aiding tools, such as: Bundler, Rake.
- Experience with Linux
- Experience with Cybersecurity and White Hat hacking
40 hrs/week
Compensation: $25/hour
