One of our clients – a leading Independent Software Vendor - is looking for a Junior Java/J2EE developer to work on a number of projects for a variety of recognisable, global clients.
Successful candidates will have an opportunity to work in an exciting environment and gain exposure to a variety of technologies (e.g. Java EE, EJB, Struts, Spring, JPA, Hibernate, SQL & jQuery). Additionally, candidates would gain valuable commercial experience and further their technical skills.
This is a role within a team of developers with varying experience (starting with very experience Software Engineers / Architects, through mid-level specialists through to Junior individuals, who like you have the ambition to learn and to excel). Essential Skills:
- A degree in Computer Science or a related subject. Modules to have been completed or similar to:
- Programming Language Design & Implementation – focus on core principles of how and why languages are designed and the implementation of common language idioms.
- Empirical Evaluation in Software Engineering – useful for accessing scenarios, particularly with estimates. Also useful for requirement elicitation and understanding
- Data Driven Systems – good understanding of database architecture
- A software project, to show and talk about their decisions and depth of understanding.
- Candidates without a degree but able to demonstrate sufficient Java/J2EE experience and skills will also be considered for this position.
