WHAT IS MECHATRONICS?
Training for mechatronics technicians began in the last 1990s. Mechatronics is a combination of mechanics, electro-technology/electronics, and IT.
Electronics technicians tend to work in plant and equipment design, assembling and maintaining complex equipment and systems. They work independently following documentation or instructions, mainly as a team, on different sites, in workshops or in customer service.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Department: Material Flow Technology
Reports to: Department Lead
Team size: 35
As a mechatronics technician in the Material Flow Technology department you and your team are responsible for several kilometers of state-of-the art materials handling technology including maintenance, repair, and error analysis.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
- Technical maintenance, troubleshooting and service of automated materials handling equipment
- Control and monitoring of material flow in our logistics
- Work with internal and external service providers and monitor compliance with thevmaintenance and accident prevention plans
- Optimize control processes and quality assurance of the conveyor technology
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Successfully completed vocational training in the field of mechatronics, industrial electrical engineering, automation technology or comparable engineering education
- Initial relevant experience in industrial systems control, process control engineering and control engineering
- Well-founded knowledge of the maintenance and error analysis of industrial equipment, preferably in materials-handling and material flow technology and basic knowledge of the common BUS systems in the automation environment
- Readiness to work in a three-shift system
- Good communication skills in English and/or German (B1 minimum)

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE SUMMARY
- Must be able to use a computer
- Must have maintenance and repair experience of logistics/production machines (hands-onexperience, not just project management)
- Must be able to read and understand an electrical circuit diagram
- Experience with SPS S7 a plus
- Experience with TGW machine or Dürrkopp a plus
- Experience with CNC a plus
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT
B1 German. For candidates who are perfect for the job but don’t yet meet the German language requirement, we would be open to discussing sponsoring intensive language training before they begin working for our client as long as they can speak English.
WORKING TIMES
5 days a week, 40 hours a week
TEAM SIZE
There are currently about 35 members of the MFT team: 14 in the early and late shift and 3 in the night
shift. When we are at full capacity there will be about 45 MFT team members.
TRAINING PERIOD
4 weeks but takes 2 full years to learn everything for the job.
TRAVEL EXPENSES & RELOCATION PACKAGE
Our client can reimburse some travel expenses to the interview. The steps and necessary documentation will be provided by the Client recruiter when needed.
The firm can reimburse some relocation costs for candidates. We work with a local relocation agency in this situation. The steps and necessary documentation will be provided by our client recruiter when needed.
Additionally, we are currently working on an integration program for candidates who relocate to Lahr from abroad to ensure they receive all the support they need.
