We are looking for a Risk Manager to join our GMCCR Analytics and Control team who has a positive attitude, takes ownership of delegated tasks and who can be depended upon. As a risk manager you will help safeguard Nordea by delivering correct risk reporting and oversight and by raising potential concerns related to ongoing processes and activities across the value chain. You will work in close cooperation with the GMCCR Analytics and Control team in Copenhagen, the Risk Management teams as well as relevant business areas and 1st line of defence functions.

GMCCR Analytics and Control is responsible for Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk reporting and control working closely with the different risk areas, IT/Infrastructure and risk model teams to ensure regulatory compliance, improve data quality and governance as well as being subject matter experts and business analysts in establishing new front end solutions for understanding the risk, reporting and control.
This is an opportunity for you to develop your professional risk management skills as well as personal experiences together with experts in the Counterparty Credit Risk and Market Risk Area.
In addition, you will grow and learn skills across Group Risk including Balance Sheet Risk Control, Liquidity risk, Credit Risk, Risk Models and Risk Infrastructure.
What you’ll be doing:
- Daily control and reporting of Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk
- Cooperate with stakeholders and prepare outputs for committees and regulators
- Build and maintain first class processes and controls for Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk
- Collaborate on projects ensuring a robust control framework and regulatory compliance towards RDARR (BCBS239) etc.
- Support control (incl. limits and risk appetite) and reporting improvements
The position will not entail responsibility for managing staff.

The ideal candidate has experience within the banking/finance area and it is important that you have an interest in risk management, control and reporting and you are willing to work on the borderline of these areas.
You have flair for technology and embrace change and developments in your area of work. You are outgoing, communicate effectively, and can build good relationships with colleagues with diverse backgrounds, nationalities and job responsibilities.
Knowledge and understanding of financial instruments, derivatives and the basics of valuation as well as basic knowledge in data architecture, database management and IT systems is an advantage.
Your profile and background:
- A degree within Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, or similar
- Have an experience in banking/finance business and interest in risk management area
- Programming skills is a plus (e.g. SQL, VBA, Python, Java)
- Excellent English language skills (written and verbal)
