Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design, develop, characterize, optimize and validate manufacturing equipment, assembly lines and processes for Northvolt’s high performance battery systems
- Lead equipment selection and production solution creation with structured project management while also developing industry partnerships for automation and production equipment design
- Influence design to optimize manufacturability up front, driving improvement in cost and quality
- Leads technical procurements with suppliers for equipment, tools and machinery purchasing, from pre-study to installation and hand-over of equipment and machinery. Supports Procurement Manager in commercial aspects during negotiations of machinery and equipment, engages in vendor selection
- Initiate new processes and improve existing processes to enhance interoffice communication, product documentation and supplier coordination
- Collaborates with cross functional teams from R&D, Quality & Safety and Production – Northvolt Poland to ensure a successful launch to production of new product concepts
- Leads FAT (at supplier) and supports SAT at Northvolt Poland for commissioning of machinery and equipment
- Perform other tasks assigned by superiors
Skills & Requirements
- 5+ years of experience implementing practical production processes, comprehensively, at high speed
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering within a manufacturing context (ideal)
- Familiarity with battery module/pack, electronics, semiconductor, automotive or other similar industries high volume manufacturing.
- Experience in discrete manufacturing line design and equipment selection
- Knowledge of prototype integration, testing and design validation processes
- Very good command of English required
