Lyophilization Development Senior Specialist is a part of our Technical R&D department. This role is tasked with leading the development of new production process and can have a strong impact on launch of innovative product and production line
- Development and scale-up of lyophilization process for biotech drugs, including process parameters and primary packaging selection
- Collaboration on formulation development for lyophilized dosage forms and their stability testing
- Collaboration with other departments (USP, DSP, ADS, QC, QA, Production, IP)
- Planning and execution of experiments without supervision
- Mentoring of more junior staff
- Writing reports according to the internal procedures
- Presentation of experimental data during team and/or department meetings
- Literature research to address challenges or to seek improvements
- Contacts with external partners (e.g. service and equipment providers)
- Degree in pharmacy, biotechnology, chemistry or other life sciences
- Minimum 5 years of experience in formulation/analytical laboratory, of which 3 years on lyophilization process development and scale-up as well as lyophilization formulation development
- Experience in laboratory techniques used in lyophilization process development (e.g. freeze-dryer, FDM, DSC, vacuum decay, KF)
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques used in formulation development (e.g., DLS, UV-Vis, HPLC, HIAC, MFI, viscosy - and rheometry)
- Ability to plan and execute experiments without direct supervision and deliver results within required timelines and quality
- Effective communication and good presentation skills to update team members on the project progress
- Ability to collaborate on cross-functional projects, e.g. with IT department
- Excellent organization, good writing skills to deliver reports within agreed deadlines
- Ability to perform literature research and draw conclusions
- Practical knowledge of MS Office
- Fluency in English
- Pro-active attitude and willingness to learn and contribute to the development of the group
- Ability to work independently as well as being a strong team player
