Philips Central Eastern Europe (CEE) is a country cluster of 17 countries with subsidiaries in Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Rep, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Serbia.
For CEE, especially for Poland, we are currently looking for a talented and experienced Legal Counsel, who has worked in an international environment, either with an international operating company and/or an international law firm, for more than five (5) years and has experience in being a solution-oriented Business Partner, enabling business growth, while ensuring legal compliance and mitigating risks. She/ He has excellent communication skills, hands-on mentality and equipped with the right set of legal skills, she/he will provide legal services, support and counseling to departments, functions, countries and managers, supporting and protecting Philips Lighting, its mission and its business overall.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works independently in any matter irrespective of complexity, with the goal to support and enable growth of our business and manage risk as well as costs while maximizing quality and speed of support
- Provides proactively legal advice from a country and/or international context, including legal advice on corporate, commercial, contractual, supply, distribution, litigation, competition, intellectual property, regulatory, compliance and other matters, fully aligned within the CEE Legal Team and the Legal team at group level, involving and fully cooperating with external and internal legal experts
- Prepares, review and negotiate contracts and other legal documents, including preparation of legal advise and solutions
- Plays a key role in safeguarding compliance with Philips General Business Principles and corresponding laws & regulations (including Anti-Bribery, Antitrust, Privacy and Export Control matters); as well as monitors the proper implementation, execution, review and compliance with Philips policies and procedures. Counsel internal clients to ensure that legally sound and compliant decisions or plans are being made
- Performs trainings to employees to ensure right awareness within Philips Poland/CEE
We are looking for a person who fits the following requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor of Law (Mag. iur. / LL.B.) degree
- Fluent Polish and (legal) English, both written and oral indispensable
- At least 5 years professional experience gained in private practice and/or in-house
- Experience in advising and supporting manufacturing operations in Poland
- Solid understanding of and experience with employment laws, contracting laws, company laws; Environment/Health/Safety laws; and claims handling
- Experience dealing with Polish authorities would be a plus
- Experience in working in an international environment/ company
- Experience with Digital Media a plus
- Analytical, communication and presentation skills
- Hands on mentality with an open mind and proactive approach
- Business sense and solution orienteda
- Independent but also a good team player in an intercultural environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills
