The Junior PHP Developer will be joining our global PHP development team, which works on new website builds and enhancing websites in production. The Developer will be responsible for troubleshooting both front end and back end code and developing feature enhancements. The ideal Developer will have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, be able to work both independently and within a team, demonstrate a willingness to learn, and have the ability to produce high quality code.
- Implement quality solutions using the Magento framework according to the technical specification
- Create new client websites or enhance existing websites
- Troubleshoot issues in PHP code
- Take part in the process of consulting our clients on the technical solutions that will solve their business problems
- Prioritize and proactively manage the tickets that are assigned
- Proactively communicate issues or delays to the lead
- Sets high standards for personal conduct and work
- Proactively work on improving technical and commerce skills, refine PHP and Magento knowledge.
- 1+ years of professional experience coding with PHP or equivalent web application programming language (Java, Python, etc.)
- If equivalent experience, a willingness to learn PHP language
- Proficiency in object-oriented development
- Ability to interact with SQL database (preferably MySQL) systems through an abstraction layer in addition to the ability to write raw SQL queries
- Minimum Upper-Intermediate level of spoken English (B2 by CEFR)
- Able to communicate clearly about technical topics
- Familiarity with CSS and HTML design standards
- Experience using Linux command line
- Ability to use debugger tools such as xDebug or Zend Debugger
- Understanding VCS (Git, SVN, etc) principles and its need for development process
