Job Description
The Global Desk provides firstline IT support to the organization's staff across a numberof locations around the globe. It operates 24x5 with a potential to moveto 24x7 so the role involves working within shift patterns forthe major time zones. In the future, it could involve working weekends ona rotational basis.
The main function of thisrole is to actively participate as part of a team of professionals,supporting the IT infrastructure, products & services using the IT ServiceManagement tools to record and track calls.
- Act as a first line technical resource on support issues for IT support,taking ownership and responsibility of each incident to ensure the customerexperiences a proactive and helpful support service.
- Be responsible for ensuring all calls and emails are logged accurately within theService Management system .
- Be a knowledgeable point of contact for customers and follow up on closed andopen tickets.
- Escalateincidents to the relevant 2nd or 3rd line technical teams (including FSS),ensuring the Team Leaders are aware of any major risks, issues oroutages.
- Excellent communications skill in written and verbal skills in English

- Proven team player with experience of working with colleagues spread across multiple global locations, dealing with time zone constraints and low levels of face to face communication.
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft business applications; Windows OS, Office, Outlook, Active Directory and mobile platforms e.g. smart phones, tablet/handheld devices.
- Good knowledge of computer hardware and IT communications with understanding of networking technologies including WAN / LAN / TCP/IP.
