About the job
Arla is creating a new and exciting function in Gdańsk to centrally manage intercompany transport operations in Europe. The European Transport Control Centre (ETCC) is initially set up to manage and control all European intermediate cross border movements within our logistics function. The ETCC is responsible for aspects of transport management including, but not limited to load building, planning, optimization, scheduling, execution, freight settlement, continual improvement and performance management. The ETCC plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth function of Arla’s intermediate transport network and thereby has a direct impact on Arla’s ability to serve its customer.
Currently, we are looking for a person who will drive the optimization of import processes and strategies to deliver key business requirements within the UK Import function. In this role, you will work closely with the rest of ETCC team, internal stakeholders (UK market, Global trade policy department), Customs Agency, Vets and carriers to ensure transport can be performed according to country-specific and transport regulations. Same time you will coordinate activities around and work in the role of project coordinator. Specifically, you will:
- Be responsible for the development and efficient application of UK import processes
- Be the main point of contact for future Brexit planning and ways of working
- Be a UK-specific point of contact with regard to import management for both internal & external stakeholders
- Lead operational management of 3rd party import providers (customs agent)
- Ensure customs compliance for goods imported into the UK via managing delivery accuracy and customs documents
- Manage and administrate import process costs and invoicing
- Ensure Border Operating Model (BOM) changes and changes in import requirements are translated into operational plans
- Develop import processes to ensure legal and operational compliance
- Apply import processes to the samples process
- Be a focal point for the development of a route to market solutions ex UK Import/export (local retailers)
- Manage the ongoing import queries both process and product related – provides a point of contact for Customs agent, Official Vet and Border Control Points
- Ensure Arla’s import network into the UK is optimized with regards to performance
- Monitor and optimize delivery accuracy and service to UK sites and customers
- Be responsible for KPI management and reporting to management
Who are you?
- Experience in the usage of transport management systems (preferably SAP TM)
- Working knowledge of Custom & import requirements for the UK
- Numerate & analytical
- Well developed, problem-solving skills
- FMCG experience
- High level of computer & software literacy
- Well-developed project management and communication skills
- Ability to manage and promote change
- Extensive understanding of supply management and planning principles
- Extensive experience in supply chain operation
- Very good English language skills
- Positive, open-minded approach
- Highly organized, with excellent time management skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practice
- Commercially aware
- Able to work equally well autonomously or as part of a team
- Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
- Education at a degree level within Supply Chain Management or similar.
- 2 – 5 years of experience in import-export customs team leader role
- Project leadership experience in a multi-functional environment
