Human Resources Manager

Position Summary


The FTS team has the need for a highly motivated, HR professional who enjoys working across all areas of Human Resources.  This HR Manager will support an organization of 20 staff members in Warsaw, Poland.  In partnership with our San Francisco Human Resources team the HR Manager will assist with the execution and delivery of HR services, including but not limited to: talent acquisition, employee relations, onboarding and off boarding of staff, and various other HR Administrative duties.  An understanding of Polish policies and regulations will be critical to help develop employee-related guidelines, direct and coordinate human resources activities, such as employment, and employee relations, training, and employee services by performing the following duties.

Reports to Director of Programs and Operations in Warsaw, Poland with a dotted reporting relationship to the VP of Human Resources in San Francisco.

Talent Acquisition
  • Will execute the full cycle recruitment process including but not limited to: sourcing, screening, scheduling, interviewing, counseling, and marketing TechSoup’s attributes.  
  • Work with the SF HR team and local hiring managers to ensure job descriptions and salary ranges are in place for all positions for FTS.
  • Utilize internet, social media, employee referrals and networking to identify and contact qualified applicants for positions
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the recruitment process.  Ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.
  • Ensures new hires are prepared for their assignments by establishing and conducting new hire onboarding.
Employee Relations
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies/guidelines, procedures, and HR programs.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Provides training to managers on coaching of employees.  Works with managers to resolve employee concerns; counseling employees and supervisors/managers as needed.
  • Provides analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources policies, procedures, and reporting and ensures compliance. Studies legislation and arbitration decisions to assess industry trends.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
Other HR Responsibilities


Participates with the SF HR team to create strategy and goals for the HR organization.  Specifically identifying the objectives for FTS.

Employment Contracts

  • Working with managers establishes employment contract for all new hires
  • Manages changes to employment contracts
  • Provide advice and counsel to employees and managers on contract questions and/or issues.
  • Provide advice and counsel to international staff on relocation and adaptation in Poland.
Social Healthcare
  • Manages day to day administration of all employee social healthcare, benefit plans, vacations, sick and holidays.
  • Provide advice and counsel employees and managers concerning social healthcare and benefits related issues.
Legal
  • Ensures that FTS remains current and compliance with labor and employment law, keeps updated on changes in employment law.
  • Ensures that required training is delivered to managers and/or employees (anti-harassment, safety, etc.)
  • Assist with Board meeting preparation

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) in Human Resources or related field (or equivalent in work experience)
  • Minimum of 4-7 years in recruitment/talent acquisition and employee relations experience
Skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge about where to find and attract talent using a social media platform and other effective methods
  • Demonstrated knowledge about employee relations, employment law, policy and procedures.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data and information.  
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints to managers and employees
  • Self-Starter; results oriented and motivated professional
  • Professional, polished and maintains confidentiality at all times, ability to perform as a trusted advisor
  • Evidence of business acumen with proven results in influencing and advising managers and leaders at all levels virtual and/or local
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity – can navigate through a complex, multi-faceted organization with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to proactively communicate and build partnerships at all levels
  • Comfortable with technology tools  – familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Powerpoint)  and HRIS systems is a Must
  • Fluent in English is a requirement
  • Experience in working in an international environment is an asset.
