Role: Partner
The Amazon HR team is passionate about business partnering in its truest sense. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, you will play a critical role in delivering the HR plan at our fulfilment centre. You will work closely with the operations team supporting a client group of approximately 5 operations managers and 10 area (shift) managers.
As a HR Assistant, you will enjoy a varied role and a wide range of interactions on a daily basis. You will get exposure to many different aspects of the business and may have the opportunity to work on national projects.
Whatever you will focus on, it will all be aimed at delivering the highest quality service to our internal and external customers.
Business Area: Operations – Fulfilment Centre
Operations is at the heart of the Amazon customer experience. Each action we undertake is completed on behalf of our customers as meeting their expectations makes us feel good.
The Operations teams in our fulfilment centres are responsible for managing a vast range of fast-moving inventory. From receiving into the fulfilment centre to stowing, picking, packing and shipping to our customers, they work very hard to ensure that our customers receive what they want, when they want it.
Main Responsibilities:
Supporting the operations team, you will contribute to the delivery of the business and HR plan at your site through administrative and support tasks. Duties will include:
Recruitment and Selection

You’ll support the site to ensure we recruit the best people for our business, people who are Customer Obsessed. You’ll record and ensure accuracy of data by Insisting on the Highest Standards in administration, trend monitoring and tracking of the recruitment processes.
Employee Relations & Engagement
Engagement of our employees is at the heart of everything we do. Often as the first point of contact for our employees, you’ll support, reassure and offer help to resolve queries or point people in the right direction . You’ll help analyse the data that we obtain via our different feedback channels and Invent and Simplify this to make it meaningful and to allow us to drive positive change.
Performance Management, Talent Management & Succession Planning
Our business is growing really quickly, so we need to make sure we continue to identify and develop our leaders of the future. You’ll support national performance review activity at a local level and help to train managers on the tools available to support them with this process. You’ll help collate the succession plan materials and work with the L & D team on site to track / record action plans for associates as an output of the reviews .
Generalist HR
You’ll thrive on working in a fast paced environment, you’ll have acute attention to detail and be keen to Deliver Results. You’re credible with a Bias for Action, ensuring you always get things done. You’ll be approachable, and a strong communicator who Earns the Trust of Others and you’ll build strong relationships with the client group at all levels.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Required qualifications and skills:
The successful candidate will be progressive, hands-on and customer-obsessed with the credibility and gravitas to succeed in a fast moving and customer-focused commercial environment.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience in an HR administrative role, within an environment committed to customer service and continual process improvement.
- Have experience working with hourly paid / shop floor employees
- Be people oriented and possess excellent interpersonal skills, being able to communicate at all levels
- Be able to prioritise workload, multi-task and manage conflicting priorities of daily tasks, as well as those that support the HR Business Partners
- Have a hands-on attitude, be flexible and adaptable
- Have complete integrity
- Have a high level of attention to detail
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred qualifications and skills
- Ideally CIPD qualified / part-qualified
- Good IT literacy (excel, computerised HR systems e.g. PeopleSoft)
- Knowledge of employment law and HR / Payroll practices would be advantageous
