Job description
Leading the team of active conservation projects leaders and specialists towards reaching WWF strategic goals and fulfilling organization's mission.
Interpersonal - Keep high quality of performance in an engaged manner, coach and develop team members, build and sustain partnerships
- ensure high quality contribution of each team member, competence development, both for technical and interpersonal knowledge, the team follows WWF values, great communication flow, cooperation and coherence of actions between managed team and other teams
- develop synergies among different project thematic areas through team work
- plan, monitor and evaluate Employees performance against agreed plans
- foster strong working relationships with external stakeholders, both local and international, including other WWF offices
Technical – supervise strategic environmental projects development and realization
- act as a conservation expert / spokesperson in fields covered by the department activities
- plan and develop new projects effectively leading towards goals realization
- ensure successful fundraising from institutional sources, and ensure effective cooperation with individual and corporate fundraising teams
- plan and oversee the realization of the active conservation department plans and budgets
- in cooperation with the CEO, head of conservation policy and heads of other departments develop strategic direction of active conservation area
- supervise contracts preparation and realization, partners and subsuppliers selection, tenders, timely delivery of quality materials prepared by teams involved in grants applications
- act proactively to minimize projects risk
Requirements
Required and desired competencies and features:
- experience within the fields of nature conservation or related areas (biology, geography, science)
- proven track of record in Leadership and Employee Management skills,
- excellent English and Polish - both written and spoken
- demonstrated success in managing customer relations & senior management
- analytical skills so as to understand and interpret trends and data to make improvements
- project management skills and experience in managing project teams would be an advantage
- urge to learn is a must (to broaden expertise in variety of conservation fields).
