The GL Accountant will be located in Wroclaw and be part of a team to deliver the General ledger and reporting activities globally. This has a wide variety of activities with changing priorities throughout the year and may include multiple territories and process areas. The role will report to the Team Leader Accounting located in Wroclaw.
- Prepare, upload and process routine and ad-hoc journals entries for management accounting and external reporting as part of the month end and year end tasks.
- Prepare variance analysis on a monthly basis and follow up with stakeholders to ensure that accruals and prepayments are recorded appropriately.
- Prepare balance sheet support documentation and load this into Blackline for assigned accounts ensuring no material differences with any issues and exceptions highlighted to appropriate management.
- Complete activities associated with fixed assets, inventory, banking and other subledgers including running monthly system processes and controls.
- Assist in preparation of Statistical and Regulatory (Telecom) reporting to governmental institutes according to timelines as assigned.
- Assist in preparation and coordinating the delivery of reports and documentation required the Global US-GAAP interim and annual Audits.
- Participate in the preparation of annual external statutory accounts as assigned including completion of first draft financial statements, preparation and booking of journal entries, completion of working papers for external auditors.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects as they arise in areas such as new systems, new countries, new products, and process improvements.
The role will be very "hands on" and will require familiarity and comfort in working with the large volumes of data. The individual should be organized, have attention for details, and able to work on multiple tasks with varying priorities. Candidates must be have a flexible, "can do" attitude and enjoy working to as part of a team where roles and responsibilities are fluid. As internal customers are spread across the globe there may be situations where it may be necessary to attend meetings or follow up on activities outside regular 9-5 day.
- Recognised accounting or relevant qualification (or part complete).
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in an international work environment.
- Exposure to US GAAP or IFRS reporting environments.
- Language skills, fluent written and spoken English is essential.
- Other European language skills are an advantage.
- Computer Literate – Microsoft office and strong affinity with ERP systems.
