The principal function of this position is to support the geospatial team in all aspects of operational delivery including: data management, quality control, data processing, data integration and spatial analysis in order to deliver a wide variety of outputs.
- Working as part of the project team to deliver geospatial tasks to appropriate quality and deadlines
- Working in common data environment on large infrastructure schemes like motorways, and supporting Environmental Impact Assessment process on a variety of schemes including flood protection, road improvements, railways, energy
- Creation, editing and analysis of spatial datasets using GIS and other geospatial solutions
- Developing web-GIS application designed for ecologists
- Management and quality control of geospatial/survey data (including python scripting)
- Compliance with QA processes to ensure data and deliverables are right first time
- Delivery of geospatial projects and tasks to defined scope, budgets and timescales
- Experience in remote surveying, LiDAR, GIS and working in common data environment
- Interest and basic understanding of ecology and how data is collected
- Experience and ability in handling large, complex data sets accurately and to interrogate data effectively
- Capable of organising and developing your work with minimal supervision
- A Global Mindset and demonstrated ability to work across cultures and remotely with our Global Integrated Delivery teams
- Experience in the UK regulatory framework including protected species licensing
- Experience of assisting with Ecological Impact Assessment or producing protected species license applications
