Taconic, a global manufacturer and marketer of engineered products for demanding specialty applications, is seeking a Controller for its start-up operation in Poland. Based in Kostrzyn, the position reports to the Chief Financial Officer in the U.S. and will be responsible for establishing and directing the financial activities for Taconic’s Polish manufacturing venture. This is a key role in Taconic’s European Management Team. The Controller’s function is to ensure timely and accurate local reporting, coordination of financial reports to Corporate Headquarters, development of business plans, and to manage all local accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, general accounting and inventory control. Other responsibilities will include managing the local external financial reporting and tax compliance processes, local banking and insurance relationships, import/export function, as well as developing and managing internal accounting and financial controls. Candidates will be qualified Accountants (CPA or equivalent), preferably with a degree in Business Administration, Accounting Science or Economics. Applicants must have 5+ years of progressive experience in financial management in Poland in a senior accounting position with a multinational group, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Taconic is seeking to appoint a candidate with demonstrated interpersonal and team leadership capabilities, strong analytical, communication and organizational skills. Fluency in English is essential.
