We are seeking a skilled and passionate professional to manage international engineering team, which develops embedded electronics systems for industrial control applications.
- Managing an international, multi-disciplinary team of software and electronics engineering experts – EPG (Electronics Platform Group) in four different Woodward plants
- Supporting platform programs through leverage of members skills, knowledge and abilities
- Assigning resources as required to supports programs based on ICS portfolio priorities
- Providing various technology expertise to leverage as required and support the growth of the business
- Preparing Platform and Technology Roadmaps
- Looking for innovations and driving new technologies, concepts and practices in an effort to provide design solutions that are significantly more competitive
- Preparation and facilitation of 'EPG portfolio reviews'
- Driving robust design culture through continuous systemic improvements and reuse of software & hardware
- Assuring the leverage of all Woodward groups and assets
- Develops, maintains, and improves a highly effective and well skilled staff to carry out actions to complete planned objectives throughout:
- Utilizing the talent management system
- Completing review process and salary planning
- Maintaining and executing a training matrix
- Appropriately staffing the group to meet business demands and objectives
- Anticipating, identifying and resolving project risks
- Developing budget to support profit planning activities and managing within the approved constraints to support achievement of profitability objectives
- Responsible for goal flow down from the Corporate level to actionable activities
- Supports other groups or segments within Woodward with expertise and manpower to the extent possible when critical situations arise
- Masters, PhD or International equivalent required, preferably in Electrical or Software Engineering
- 8-12 years engineering experience in an identical or closely related field
- Proven management experience is required
- International leadership experience will be a differentiating factor
- Excellent people, time management, and project management skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Highly refined communication and presentation skills
- Effective communication skills in English
- Excellent technical savvy and ability to reach consensus on technical direction
- Significant product portfolio and organizational knowledge
- Significant technical toolbox (trade-studies, brainstorming, design evaluation matrices, risk management, CAD systems, test methods and systems, configuration management, DFMEA, IDE and standard software development tools)
- Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate individuals to perform beyond their comfort zone
- Superb risk management skills for robust design
- Good strategic thinking skills (specifically relating to the corporate strategic planning and execution)
