EMEA HR Lead / Senior HR Business Partner

Avid Technology is looking for an EMEA HR Lead/Sr HR Business Partner to join our team based in Szczecin, Poland. This is an individual contributor role, reporting into the Sr HR Manager, Business Partners, located in Burlington, Massachusetts, USA.

As the EMEA HR Lead, you will be accountable for defining and implementing business HR priorities and strategies across EMEA, with the greatest focus on Poland, Germany, France, UK. In this role, you will act as a partner to the business and to the rest of HR. You will research, recommend, implement, and enact corporate HR strategy, employment law, and policies. For this role, resourcefulness, thoroughness, and keen critical thinking are very important.
The other half of the role is that of a Sr HR Business Partner (Sr HRBP), supporting the global Sales and Avid Global Services (AGS) organizations, which consists of Customer Care and Professional Services. In this role, you will provide expert HR guidance and support with the objective of adding value and driving business results further. The skills needed to be successful are consultation, critical thinking, influence, negotiation, project management, and follow-through.

This opportunity provides you the chance to support two functions that are key to Avid’s overall success. The HRBP team will look to you to demonstrate best practices and provide mentorship. Managers and employees are located globally, giving you the chance to build your knowledge and execution of employment laws, policies and procedures around the world. Avid’s HR team is dedicated to individual and team development, offering formal training and work experiences to help you continue to develop your skillset. Due to the nature of a global workforce, this role will be expected to participate in meetings and respond to urgent requests beyond standard local business hours. Travel is only occasional and is not expected to exceed 10%.


About the role:

  • Contribute to the business strategy by consulting with business leaders and HRBPs to identify, prioritise and build organisational capabilities, behaviours, org structures and operational process excellence
  • Partner with leaders to ensure a winning culture of high performance, personal accountability and operational excellence
  • Know the organizational talent and external talent pipeline and future business requirements in order to align with the local and corporate strategy
  • Excellent recruiting skills and capabilities – partner with the EMEA Talent Acquisition to interview all leaders to assess, hire or promote high performing talent who possess Avid’s Values
  • Provide a high level of business and HR consulting expertise to EMEA Business, HR Team and Corporate functions
  • Strong leadership role for coordinating, communicating, educating and partnering with business leaders in successfully executing Avid’s initiatives (Comp planning, performance appraisals, goal setting, succession planning, etc.)
  • Manage specific projects as determined in the annual HR operational plan and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives
  • Utilize business and HR metrics to assess, recommend change and improve the health and performance of the business
  • Educate business and HR on EMEA regulations, laws, policies, and practices
  • Develop employee engagement approaches and provide expert advice and coaching
  • Travel is estimated at 10%

About You:

  • You must demonstrate passion and commitment to succeed in a highly matrixed fast-paced technology environment
  • You have a proven track record of successful implementation of business change initiatives
  • You will need to demonstrate an ability to act as role model to the organisation and team, collaborate and share knowledge with colleagues
  • Possess solid analytical skills, experienced in using both excel and PowerPoint
  • Hold a degree in Business or Human Resources or have relevant experience in the field
  • Work experience as a consultant is a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an International HR Business Partner role with experience across many HR fields – employee relations, talent acquisition/recruiting, HR operations, learning and development, compensation and benefits
  • You must be fluent in English and Polish
  • Conversational German and/or French is preferred
  • Hands-on experience with modern HR Systems, such as Workday or Successfactors, is preferred
  • You must be a strong communicator, both written and oral, with the ability to communicate to groups and individuals, tailoring style to suit audience and situation
  • You should have excellent critical thinking, judgement, and decision-making skills
