Job Summary

 

Responsible for a district made up of a number of allocated stores. Promotes company shrinkage reduction programmes, manages physical security and resolves both internal and external theft and fraud thereby reducing shrinkage. Works in partnership with the District management to implement effective shrinkage reduction strategies and encourages and supports stores to do likewise. Manages the day-to-day performance of the store Loss Prevention teams in order to support district and store strategies, as well as business and personal objectives.


Responsibilities

 

Physical Security

  • Store Alarm System meets the Physical Security requirements of the store and is managed in line with TJX LP Policy
  • Physical security of the store is maintained to its optimum level at all times
  • LP equipment is utilised and managed to its full potential
  • Provide Loss Prevention support and advice to Head Office departments during new store opening process.
  • Validation of walk tests, correct user slots allocation and attributes takes place.
  • Breaches of Physical Security are reported to the relevant agencies or internal departments.
  • Validation of key audits takes place.
  • CCTV system is used to monitor areas of exposure to the store.
  • CCTV Management is as per Data Protection Act.
  • Make recommendations for new equipment by presenting a reasoned business case.

Crime Resolution

  • External Theft prevention and resolution is constantly focused upon throughout all levels in designated stores.
  • Through utilisation of District and Store LPI resource, ensure external theft prevention and resolution is constantly focussed upon
  • Shoplifting apprehension fall within Productivity measures and TJX LP Policy
  • Regularly review apprehended shoplifter profiles and correlation of apprehensions to top five shrink departments.
  • Through utilisation of District and Store LPI resource, ensure Internal Theft is proactively highlighted and investigated in all designated stores.
  • All Dishonest Associate investigations are supervised.
  • Store Management / Team Leaders receive company Dishonest Associate training.
  • Through utilisation of the LP Trainer, ensure Loss Prevention personnel receive company Dishonest Associate Investigations training after probationary period.
  • Dishonest Associate investigation files and IROC Programme are reviewed during store visits to ensure that they meet company and legally required standards.
  • Through utilisation of the Regional Investigator and Store LPI's, ensure Dishonest Associate investigations are managed and closed in a timely manner.

Shrink Awareness

  • All company shrink programmes are regularly supported and promoted through store management and Loss Prevention personnel.
  • Shrink Information area is maintained as current and relevant reflecting store and company shrink initiatives
  • Working with the District LP Trainer, ensure all Store Management and Associates receive LP Induction and ongoing training utilising TJX LP Training Tools
  • Store management and Loss Prevention weekly meetings are effective.

Operational Compliance

  • Conducts Healthchecks of key operational areas to identify exposure to loss.
  • Results from audits fed back to store management and Loss Prevention and support is giving as to the content of the subsequent Action Plan.
  • Offer advice and support to store to formulate action plans to rectify exposures discovered during store visits.
  • Action plans are reviewed within set timescales.
  • Report incidents of serious exposure to loss through lack of operational control to Regional Loss Prevention Manager.
  • Review store management / Loss Prevention weekly meeting report to ensure effectiveness and resolution of any operational issues.
  • Proactively look for opportunities within the business for reducing shrinkage within the markdown, reticketing and damages process.

People & Talent

  • Share and provide leadership to the District LP team in understanding and implementing the Company Loss Prevention Strategy.
  • Conduct annual appraisals and mid year performance reviews with each member of the Loss Prevention team within the district.
  • Discuss and set personal development plans with each Loss Prevention individual within the district.
  • Utilise company interviewing techniques for recruitment and selection of new Loss Prevention personnel into the district.
  • Regularly review progress of Loss Prevention team to ensure ongoing development.
  • Maintains and supports District and Regional Talent and Succession Plans with HR partners

Communication and Administration

  • Regularly meets with and visits stores with DM partner to validate execution of Corporate and Regional Shrink Plans
  • Communicates serious exposures to loss or breaches of policy to Regional Management
  • In conjunction with DM partner plans quarterly shrink activity based on current district and store performance trend
  • Maintains District, LP and personal administrative standards to a high level
  • Manages resource strategically to maintain optimum performance

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Ability to recruit, coach and performance manage a team.
  • To have an understanding of P&L
  • Experience of a Loss Prevention function within a retail environment.
  • Be able to demonstrate experience of managing projects.
  • Minimum qualification to 'A' level standard or work experience to a similar level.
  • Be able to demonstrate sound PC skills.
  • Has experience in a multi site environment and excellent time management skills.
  • Be able to multi task, be highly organised, self-motivated and visible leader and incorporate a sense of humour
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally
  • Strong analytical skills
  • A creative problem solver and team builder
  • Understanding of and ability to resolve crime
  • Understanding of TJX Operational policies and routines
