Raffles Europejski, Warsaw, scheduled for opening in 2017, not only brings a new luxury hotel to this fast changing city, but also heralds the next chapter for one of the city’s most iconic and best loved buildings. Raffles Europejski, Warsaw will offer its guests 103 elegant guestrooms and suites; a restaurant with an outdoor terrace with seasonal menus showcasing Poland’s rich produce and cuisine; a bar and cigar lounge; and a pâtisserie that will evoke Hotel Europejski’s fascinating story, tempting guests and locals with chocolates, cakes, ice-cream and other sweet delicacies. The hotel will also house a spa featuring six treatment rooms.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Director Talent & Culture provides strategic directive, guidance and leadership on human resources concepts and operational decisions for the hotel that supports the mission, vision and values. Success will be defined through the completion of projects, high performance and the fulfilment of promises we make to all our stakeholders.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Consistently provides thoughtful, caring and sincere service
- Leads and oversees the day to day operation of the Human Resources Department as well as play a critical play role in the implementation of the Human Resources strategy
- Assess organizational needs, develops aligned HR solutions and implements strategies in the areas of Human Resources Administration, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Welfare, Safety and Health, Employee Communication, Industrial Relations, Training and Development, Performance Management and Career Development in accordance with national, industry and brand standards, laws and customs, and ensuring that they are complied with by other departments
- Develops and proposes plans relating to present or future manpower requirements of the Hotel to ensure that the Hotel is correctly staffed according to the projected level of business
- Liaises with employment agencies, educational institutions, government bodies etc for staff and possible sources of recruitment
- Assesses and evaluates prospective employees
- Formulates and recommends a sound wage and salary system, which facilitates the attracting and retaining of staff
- Identifies, prioritizes and meets the short and long term training and development needs of the Hotel
- Represents the Hotel in collective bargaining and contacts with labour organizations and employee representations(if applicable)
- Promotes positive Colleague relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust, mutual respect and fun
- Assists Departmental Leaders and Senior Managers with the development of specific action plans to address issues and concerns identified in colleague feedback
- Effectively manages the annual HR budget
- Balances operational, administrative and Colleague needs
- Follows departmental policies and procedures
- Follows all safety policies
- Ensure strict compliance to the health and safety guidelines of the department/hotel
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications and Education
Education & other qualifications:
- Must have 5+ years experience in a similar role within a luxury hospitality environment
- University/College degree in a related discipline a strong asset
- Fluent in Polish and English (other European languages are desirable)
- Track record with ownership relationships and good references to support this
- Must be strategic, creative and able to clearly communicate how plans will deliver on overall goals
- Excellent speaking and presentation skills
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills
- Adaptable & flexible with the capacity to set high goals and standards for the smooth operation of the hotels
- Effective management style, hands-on and approachable
- Bottom-line oriented with emphasis on quality guest-service and team-building
