Database Administrator

Job description
Your main responsibilities as Database Administrator will involve:
- Maximizing uptime and availability for all databases
- Monitoring and Improving Database performance
- Maintaining Database Access and Security
- Database Migrations and software upgrades
- Database Installations and Configurations
- Oversee clustering, mirroring, replication and failover
- Revise/build backup policies
- Test and Install upgrades and Patches
- Develop database utilities and automated reporting
- Supporting the development and deployment of internal developed software & systems
- Implement security and encryption where applicable and in relation to the data stored in the databases
- Design and Implement an authorization structure and monitor this for compliance
- Provide consultancy and support for developers and application support engineers whose applications use the database infrastructure
- Optimizing the database design and license structure
- SQL optimization and Application Support working with the Application Support team
- Available for On Call support
Requirements
As our new Database Administrator (DBA) you will need to recognize yourself in the following profile:
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as Database Administrator
- Good knowledge Oracle databases (11g, 12c), Oracle RAC, Dataguard, OEM and EMAN as well as SQL server 2008 and 2012, as well as MySQL
- Good proficiency in Linux systems administration (CentOS, OEL)
- Performance tuning on Oracle, SQL server and MySQL databases
- Experience with OracleVM preferred
- Experience with MySQL replication preferred
- Experience with data warehouse preferred
- Strong logical and analytical thinking skills
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail
- Ability to think broadly and consider impacts across systems
- Basic knowledge of storage and capacity planning
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Understanding of IT security processes, Policies and Procedures, knowledge and experience in ITIL is a bonus
- Proven ability in driving change to effect substantial efficiency and effectiveness gains
