What We Do in the area of Data Management and Data Governance
We help our clients reimagine their data capability through governance and change their organizational mindset. We enhance this capability by developing data frameworks, building the strategy, optimizing infrastructure, processes and systems, and creating the culture. PwC’s Data and Analytics practice has successfully helped organizations of all sizes, complexity and operating models across all industries transform their data governance practices. In joining, you'll focus on aligning client data strategies to their business strategy.
Role
- Developing, running and conducting data maturity assessments using well known maturity assessment models and techniques;
- Defining data governance and management strategies;
- Designing and developing Data Governance operating models that include Data Governance organization, Data Governance plans, roadmap, roles and responsibilities, data ownership and data stewardship, KPIs;
- Creating high quality and detailed documentation related to Data Governance processes and policies. Developing technical RFPs (functional and technical requirements) for digitizing data management & governance operations;
- Outlining data architecture and data integration patterns, data element naming conventions (including data dictionaries, business glossary, data models and ERD), data quality processes and KPIs, metadata management;
- Implementing enterprise data concepts such as Master Data Management and Enterprise Data Warehouse;
- Analyzing data solutions in the context of business applications, cost optimization, client’s strategic needs and future growth goals as it relates to becoming a ‘data driven’ organization;
- Utilizing SQL, report generation using visualization tools such as e.g., Tableau/Power BI, programming using Python/Spark;
- Working on internal initiatives developing new value propositions for our Clients;
- Coaching junior staff.
Candidate profile
- 10-15 years of work experience in working with large Data Governance or Enterprise Information Management programs (on-premise and cloud) including min 2-year experience in strategy through execution projects (any role);
- Experience with data management standards and in defining and applying data monetization models, including (demand, supply, pricing, readiness, etc.);
- Experience in using Data Management tools is strongly required covering all range of data management lifecycle (cataloguing, quality, integration, governance, and marketplace) - preferably Informatica;
- Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills with ability to summarize complex issues / data sets to be able to share effectively targeted management information;
- Using appropriate facilitation techniques to gain agreement or move others to action;
- Excellent verbal and written business communication skills (e.g. the good abilities to prepare management presentations);
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives with defined timelines and keeping key senior stakeholders and technology as well as operations partners appropriately updated;
- Very strong organizational skills. Innovative, entrepreneurial and eager to learn;
- Experience of DAMA Maturity Assessment Framework;
- Having familiarity of one or more is a big plus - CCPA, GDPR, data privacy and security standards, DCAM or related data governance frameworks;
- Understanding and experience with one or more of the following or equivalent technologies - Informatica, Collibra, Alation, Zaloni, Alteryx is a big plus;
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields.
