We are looking for a Country Tax Manager located in Warsaw, Poland. You will be responsible for all tax matters in Poland.
Your Team:
You will be part of the global Group Tax team of Philips Lighting. The position is located in Warsaw, Poland but you will be working closely together with colleagues from all parts of Philips Lighting, as well as with fellow Philips Lighting Group Tax advisors and outside advisors. Philips Lighting Group Tax spans a global network of some 42 professionals operating as one integrated, internal tax function for Philips Lighting’s businesses worldwide advising on Transfer Pricing, Corporate Income Tax, VAT and customs.
Your Responsibilities:
The Country Tax Manager – Poland reports to the Regional Tax lead in the Netherlands and works closely together with finance and other colleagues in Poland and the Central and Eastern European (CEE) market. Main focus of the role would be on Poland, other countries in the region can be added to the responsibilities, depending on the profile of the candidate.
Your primary responsibilities are:
- Tax advice; focused on Corporate Income Tax, Transfer Pricing, VAT and Customs
- Handling Tax Audits
- Assisting in the implementation of tax plans, discussions with tax authorities on tax positions, mutual agreement procedures and tax rulings
- Independently acting as Group Tax contact regarding potential M&A transactions and other tax projects of Philips Lighting
- Coordination of and assisting the external service provider that prepares the Polish tax returns, Transfer Pricing documentation and Tax Accounting & Reporting colleagues
- Informs the businesses about tax regulations and their modifications, as applicable to Philips Lighting businesses
- Formulation/execution of Group Tax strategy, processes, policy & guidelines, risk control framework, monitoring, compliance
- Handling different queries from Tax Authorities, representing company in front of Tax Authorities
- Often single contributor working with Group Tax CoEs, third party service providers, as well as CoEs of other group functions
- Accountability and Responsibility as in published RACIs. Accountable for Corporate Income Tax, Tax Accounting and oversight role (planning, risk, compliance) for VAT/Customs
We are looking for a person who fits the following requirements:
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax law. Accounting Qualification (CPA, RA, RC, ACCA or comparable)
- Fluent Polish and English (both orally and in writing) is obligatory
- 6+ years of proven experienceof (international) tax experience
- Expert level knowledge on Poland country specific tax regulations and solid knowledge of international tax
- Solid experience with transfer pricing and/or experience in an international tax setting and/or working knowledge of (tax) accounting experience is a plus
- A driven Team player that keeps oversight
- Good understanding of ERP systems
- Ability to interface with the other departments and third parties in a manner that will professionally represent the department
- Excellent analytical skills, motivation and confidence to independently address tax issues
- Well-developed planning and organizational skills
- Proactive approach and self-drive
- Highly developed entrepreneurship.
