Cloud Systems Administrator

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works as part of a cross-functional team to conduct proactive monitoring, remote diagnostic investigation and maintenance activities on our AWS Window and Linux servers
- Act as an escalation point for all incidents involving a whole range of AWS offering: ELB, EC2, SMS, Route55, EBS, KMS, IAM, STS, CloudWatch, S3, VPC, security groups.
- Provides operations support by responding to inbound calls/emails from a wide variety of client organizations and external groups performing the necessary support required to resolve issues
- Provide support during large scale outages and disaster recovery efforts
- Identify, research, and develop process improvements and recommends them to management for implementation
- Create, use and maintain resource documentation for reference and troubleshooting problems
- Create change requests in accordance with change management policy
- Work with internal groups to create reports on up time, Service Levels, server utilization, and other key metrics as directed
- Provide recommendations to improve the customer experience
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 3-6 years of System Administration on Windows OS and managing complex enterprise systems
- Experience in working in an ITIL mature environment
- Certifications in Amazon Web Services is considered an asset
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Extensive system administration experience on Windows and large scale web based application deployments
- Experience on Windows server platforms specifically Windows 2012 R2 is required
- Experience on Windows based products and services, specifically IIS, ADFS, Windows server update service, remote desktop services, etc
- Experience with OS security involving Active Directory, Windows networking, Group policies, DNS, PKI & Certificates
- Extensive knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell, Python or Perl
- Experience with activities like OS patching, OS hardening, installation of applications, vulnerability testing, event management and log collection. Experience in automation of these tasks is a plus.
- Experience with performance tuning at OS and network level
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Formal large scale development experience or large scale production experience is a huge plus
- Configuration Management system like SaltStack, Chef, Puppet etc.
- Proven ability to effectively work with key client executives along with setting appropriate project expectations
- Proven ability to design, implement or document complex configurations of multiple integrated software products to meet the business needs of a customer
- Ability to work with aggressive timelines, in a team environment with a willingness to learn and grow.

Responsible for monitoring and responding to incidents, the Systems Administrators works on mission critical application supporting some of the world’s largest enterprises across the globe. As part of this group, you will be on the vanguard of ensuring our clients are successful utilizing their applications.
