Responsibilities:
- Create reusable, effective, and scalable infrastructure code on AWS using one of: Terraform/Terragrunt, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK
- Act as a moderator between teams (both in IT and outside of IT) and AWS Development Team to migrate applications to AWS
- Mentors developers, through discussions, presentations, programming, to demonstrate best practices in developing highly available and flexible application infrastructure in AWS
- Understand existing AWS infrastructure and stack in order to employ best AWS solutions
- Design and implement cost-effective cloud solution architectures and migration strategies
- Create different AWS services such as APIs, RDS instances and Lambdas to build a serverless applications using one of the: Terraform, AWS Python and CDK or AWS CloudFormation
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs in the system and develop solutions
- Conducting software analysis, testing, updating, and debugging
- Test and update infrastructure code so that it can be reused on different projects
- Supports CI/CD (Jenkins) and able to use a CI/CD pipeline to deploy applications on AWS
- MsC/BsC Degree in a related field plus additional related professional training and four to seven years of progressively responsible, directly related, experience required
- One or more AWS certifications would be ideal: AWS Certified Developer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Deep understanding of core AWS services and AWS architecture best practices (e.g. S3, EC2, Lambda, Glacier, SNS, EBS, CloudFront, SQS, VPC, EKS, Fargate and Elastic Beanstalk, etc.)
- Strong understanding of security best practices (e.g. IAM roles, KMS, etc.)
- Deep understanding of AWS architecture best practices
- Must have a thorough understanding of web protocols TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, TLS, etc.
- Highly proficient in one or more languages from our stack (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Python and AWS CDK etc.)
- Experience in Linux/Unix administration and hardening techniques (2+ years)
- DevOps experience and CI/CD model
- Kubernetes/Docker deployments techniques
- Monitoring and log analysis (based on: AWS CloudTrail, AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK etc.)
- Experience with code reviews and tests
- Experience with Web and Application servers such as Nginx, IIS, Apache, Tomcat
