Jacobs’ IT Procurement organization manages IT suppliers and develops and executes procurement category strategies that support the needs of Jacobs’ business units and IT.
The Category Manager is responsible for managing a IT category or range of related IT commodities. Providing the internal customer with procurement and contract solutions regarding the product and category. Creating and developing a long term plan and strategy for development of the category to leverage the volume and drive value. The IT Category Manager also builds relationships with stakeholders to support early engagement opportunities with suppliers to optimize investment.
Jacobs is seeking a seasoned IT category manager with industry knowledge of software and hardware suppliers and extensive contract management experience. Under the direction of IT Procurement management, this individual will develop and implement sourcing strategies to drive business value and cost savings. This individual will analyze the supplier environment, conduct business reviews with internal stakeholders, drive supplier negotiations, and assure risk mitigation.
- Negotiate contract terms and commercials including pricing and volume discounts for hardware and software agreements
- Analyze data to support effective contract approaches with fact based options
- Research current state contracts, inventories, costs, and future state requirements in support of sourcing and negotiation strategies that drive value capture
- Strong relationships skill supporting internal customers timeline and deliverables and evaluate supplier performance over contractual term(s)
- Provide execution support of selected contract rationalization opportunities with key suppliers
- Identify strategic supplier contract improvement opportunities.
- Provide, communicate, and implement effective sourcing approaches that meet organizational goals
- Provide contract legal review support and recommendations for Category Managements Team Members
- Manage procurement work queue; requesting quote and placing purchase orders
- Coordinate with internal IT Asset Management personnel for capture of data and for communication of contracting results
- Minimum of five years’ corporate IT procurement experience required
- Master’s degree in legal would be an asset
- Fluent English both written and verbal required
- Demonstrated experience in contract review and negotiations both legal and commercial
- Experience reviewing and executing IT procurement supporting statements of work and moderately complex software procurements
- Experience managing IT procurements through Requests for Quotes and Purchase order execution
- Experience interfacing and working with suppliers; including moderately complex negotiations
- Knowledge of US Law will be an asset
- Support of US based suppliers as required
- Experience with software contract separation and rationalization due to merger and acquisitions.
