Category Manager - Direct / Indirect Materials

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Build and implement category sourcing strategies in close collaboration with Category Director and Category Members
- Proactive category approach to secure being on the forefront of key trends and overall development in the market
- Set ambitious and realistic savings targets for the lead category/-ies, and performance manage accordingly
- Drive savings realisation for lead categories in close collaboration with Category Members
- Lead centralized direct and indirect sourcing and procurement efforts with focus on sustainability, and assessing supplier long/short term risk
- Perform holistic negotiation, securing that the Category team is enabled to close contracts based on lowest total cost of ownership – fulfilling quality, safety and delivery demands which contribute to DOVISTA profitability targets
- Collaborate cross functionally with other Category teams as well as across SBU’s
Priorities:
- Secure the development and implementation of optimal lead category strategies
- Build and document supply market intelligence according to category
- Apply standardized contracting process including templates utilization with focus on legal compliance
- Secure customer first approach, and build cross SBU sourcing set-up, with local agility to meet stakeholder demands
- Participate in and contribute to category work in categories lead by other Category Managers
- Establish and develop sustainable supplier partnerships and measures
- Secure ongoing supplier risk assessment and take necessary actions
- Secure that all cost-out opportunities are identified
- Live up to overall strategic targets via measurable category KPI’s
- Risk manage and install multiple sourcing on critical components
- Achieve cost reduction / savings targets
- Work cooperatively with other sourcing leads as a team member to meet common objectives
- Collaborate with technologist and other departments to deliver best solution
- Follow negotiation calendar
Qualifications / Required Experience:
- International category management experience – min 2 years
- English – very good
- Solid understanding of cost drivers within the areas of category management, and proven results
- In-depth understanding of the supply market characteristics, drivers and dynamics – with strong knowledge of strengths/weaknesses of key suppliers
- Building and executing sourcing strategies based on market data and detailed data analysis
- Establishing and developing supplier partnerships
- Experienced with strict following of negotiation calendar, supplier risk management
- Project management skills

- Experienced with performance management / KPI’s – both in relation to projects and suppliers
