The Role Business Analyst
Work on our financial application software products.
You will be involved in the full application development lifecycle working as part of globally distributed team. Focusing on the Finance function for telecommunications, banking and insurance, the role provides the opportunity to work on interesting projects for some of the biggest multinational corporations.

Aptitude Software Ltd is headquartered in London and is listed on the London Stock Exchange (LON:MCGN). Our North American base is in Boston’s Independence Wharf.
- The main purpose of the role is to work on our financial application software products as a business analyst. Operating between the business Product Owners / subject matter experts, and the development teams to gather, analyse and detail product requirements, document and articulate them in an appropriate way for the development team to implement.
- This role requires finance and accounting knowledge and will includes regular communication with our finance experts in UK and US. Some technical knowledge is advantageous, in particular an understanding of databases and SQL, and experience of the software development lifecycle.
What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
- Strong communication, specifically the ability to articulate ideas, problems, and solutions in a way other people understand (both verbally and documented)
- Detailed knowledge of accounting and the finance function, and, ideally, experience of working with regulatory requirements (IFRS).
- Skills and experience in requirements capture and definition for the development of a software solution to meet business requirements
- Work closely with the Product Owner in the definition and analysis of requirements, translation in to product backlog, and backlog grooming
- Collaborate with other members of the Development team, including architects, developers and testers
- Experience across the software development lifecycle, from

requirements definition through to QA

Demonstrable experience of working closely with customers of internal business units

University education preferably in Accounting, Economics, or Business.
