What does the role involve?
Our sales department is the heart of Hilti. Areas Sales Manager has one of the most important functions in the company. Our managers have a full trust of the management board and are independent when it comes to managing their budget and creating business.
As Area Sales Manager, you’ll be expected to meet and exceed our business targets, and maximize profitable growth. This means partnering with our customers to understand their businesses, while developing loyal, win-win relationships. It also involves working with other teams to capitalize on business potential across territories, and taking an active role in handling key accounts.
You’ll lead a team of account managers, which calls for training, developing and motivating them, both individually and as a unit. In fact, we believe that the team of account managers, their ability to achieve goals and develop their career, is a mirror of the leader’s input.
As Area Sales Manager you will create business and manage your budget independently.

What you need is:
- Master’s degree required
- Proficiency in English
- Commercial, manufacturing or technical background, with track record of sales achievement
- To be customer oriented, with a passion for developing and improving processes
- At least 4 years of managerial experience in sales department (experience in other departments or work abroad would be an advantage)
- Proven people management experience with a focus on developing others
- An analytical, result-oriented, and pro-active approach to tasks High communication skills and proven ability to influence stakeholders from various functional and hierarchical groups
- High level of achievement with an established track record and clear career progression
- Mobility – for future career progression, must be internationally mobile
- MBA degree or background in consultancy would be an advantage
