Description:
As an Accounts Receivable Team Leader you will be joining our in-house corporate accounting department. You will become an important part of our global team by providing accounting support to the project delivery efforts for our clients and internal teams.
The Accounts Receivable Team Leader works with project teams in the clearance of project investment balances. In this role, you will lead a team of six to nine AR Analysts servicing multiple locations. You'll allocate work to your team, conduct year-end appraisals, engage in recruitment and provide mentoring and guidance, as well as connect with Project Players and other individuals to communicate and solve AR related issues.
Our Accounts Receivable Team Leader:
- Ensures timely application of payments to client invoices for various entities in multiple locations, supporting AR Analysts in solving any emerging accounting issues and directing towards satisfactory resolution,
- Ensures timely updates of existing receipt logs and cash books for the benefit of multiple stakeholders (including other functions within Finance Department, Statutory Accounting etc.)
- Actively assists Project Management Teams in deciding on alternative actions with reference to existing AR balances on multiple projects (including allowances, write-offs etc.)
- Actively participates in period close activities by analyzing month-end AR balances, reviewing commentary provided by AR Analysts, reviewing and approving necessary pre-close and post-close adjustments and identifying the need for additional adjustments.
- Identifies changes in existing procedures and policies, providing appropriate training to team members.
Additionally, since AR function is currently organized within Project Accounting Department, you will be directly reporting to PA/AR Manager and therefore have a chance to get familiar with project accounting activities as well. Those activities include monitoring project investment, reviewing client invoices, revenue recognition and month-end reporting on project performance. Each member of AR Team will be assigned with a portfolio of multiple projects. To some extent AR Team Leader function will therefore include PA Supervisor responsibilities as well.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Managerial Accounting.
- Must be able to apply accounting/finance knowledge and technical skills to large number of diverse situations ranging from routine setup to management.
- 3-5 years of experience in an accounting environment, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in team management (including employee appraisal)
- Fluency in both written and spoken English.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Knowledge of SQL
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as Oracle Financials.
- Advanced analytical skills.
- The ability to support work in different time zones.
- Professional certifications (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) would be an asset.
