Cash and Collections Manager is responsible for managing accounts receivables, collections and cash operations for BD across Europe, Middle East and Africa.
- Working with BD customers to ensure receivables are current
- Optimal DSO performance
- Timely application of incoming cash
- Reconciling cash and customer accounts
- Managing all cash payouts and bank transactions including non-standard payments
- Partnering with accounts payable, treasury, HR and other finance teams
- Responsible for leading, monitoring and coordinating the activities of the team on a daily basis while ensuring an optimal and compliant operations eco system
- Coordinating cross-functional resources in order to manage cash collections and minimize risk of credit losses
- Owns the customer accounts, cash accounts and cash clearing accounts across the region and weekly/monthly account clearing
- Ensure high quality month end close by proactively working with stakeholders
- Understands and executes the client strategy as defined by management; tracks liquidation trends; educates and communicates strategy changes to the team
- Building strong collaborative relationships with controller-ship teams across the region, business stakeholders and auditors
- Coaches and mentors the team leads on BD leadership standards
- Primary operations lead responsible for process improvement and representing the team in global/regional projects
- Act as the subject matter expert on collections, treasury, GAAP, SOX and other compliance requirements
- Degree in Finance/Accounting
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience Minimum 3 years of leading a mid-sized international Finance organization with multi country responsibility is required
- Expert knowledge of accounting policies and procedures including European and US GAAP standards expected
- Fluent English and strong communication skills
- Proven track record of managing an accounting team with strong accounting skills, experience in balance sheet reconciliation and process optimization
- Experience managing accounts receivable process with a focus on bank operations in fortune 500
- Very good business/financial acumen and ability to set clear priorities amongst critical/competing deadlines
- Technically competent to represent the operations with finance stakeholders (business/function) and auditors -internal/external
- Strong communication skills and track record delivering in a virtual/remote operating environments
- Skills - Business and financial acumen, technology adept, networking and people skills
- Audit experience or financial certification is strong advantage
